Constitutional Crisis

ALERT ! Unless Obama proves he is a "natural born citizen" any purported election into the office of President will be forever in doubt. Moreover, without meeting the Constitutional requirement of being a "natural born citizen", any resulting "election" of Obama will be null and void. He will have no authority as President, as the office of the President will be Constitutionally vacant. Yet, he would be "acting" as President. This is a Constitutional crisis. The lack of news coverage is outrageous. This would be fraud and corruption in the election of the U.S. President. Ask yourself - what has happened in recent U.S. history when such existed, and the government refused to correct the situation? Read about the Battle of Athens, Tennessee.

Action needed on Anti 2nd Amendment law -

Your Gun Rights Could Soon Hang In The Balance
-- VA Tech shootings now spurring the most far-reaching gun control
in a decade

Gun Owners of America E-Mail Alert
8001 Forbes Place, Suite 102, Springfield, VA 22151
Phone: 703-321-8585 / FAX: 703-321-8408
http://www.gunowners.org/ordergoamem.htm

ACTION: Now that Congress is moving to restrict YOUR rights in
response to the VA Tech shootings, please make sure to take the
following three actions after you read this alert:

1. Urge your Representative to OPPOSE HR 297, the Dingell-McCarthy
legislation that is designed to take the Brady Law to new heights,
turning it into a law on steroids which could one day keep even YOU
from buying a gun. (Contact information and a draft letter to your
Representative are provided below.)

2. Gin up the e-mail alert systems in your state and forward this
e-mail to as many gun owners as you can.

3. Please stand with Gun Owners of America -- at
http://www.gunowners.org/ordergoamem.htm -- and help us to continue
this fight, as right now, we are combating this latest onslaught
ALONE in our nation's capital. GOA spokesmen spent all of last week
doing radio and TV debates, interviews for newswires, and opinion
editorials for newspapers. This week, we begin the battle in
Congress to defeat legislation that could block millions of
additional, honest gun owners from buying firearms.

Monday, April 23, 2007

The biggest gun battle of the year is about to erupt on Capitol Hill.
Fueled by the recent Virginia Tech shootings, an odd coalition is
forming to help expand the number of honest people who now won't be
able to buy a gun.

The legislation has been introduced by none other than the Queen of
Gun Control herself, Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY). But she has
picked up a key ally, as the bill (HR 297) is being pushed by a
powerful gun group in Washington, DC.

On Friday, The Washington Post reported on the strange coalition.
"With the Virginia Tech shootings resurrecting calls for tighter gun
controls," the Post said, "the National Rifle Association has begun
negotiations with senior Democrats over legislation to bolster the
national background-check system."

Rep. John Dingell (D-MI), who was once on the NRA Board of Directors
but resigned when he supported and voted for the Clinton semi-auto
ban in 1994, is reported to be "leading talks with the powerful gun
lobby in hopes of producing a deal [soon]," Democratic aides and
lawmakers told the newspaper.

Rep. McCarthy admitted to the Post that her "crusades" for more gun
control have made her voice "toxic" in gun circles. "So
Dingell is
handling negotiations with the NRA," the newspaper reported.
"Dingell is also in talks with Sens. Orrin G. Hatch (R-Utah) and Ted
Stevens (R-Alaska), House Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio)
and Rep. F. James Sensenbrenner (Wis.), the senior Republican on the
House Judiciary Committee."

Despite all this bad news, the Post article does go on to explain
that there are some potential pitfalls.

First, you will remember that this is the bill you helped kill last
year, when an avalanche of postcards was dumped on Congressional
desks by thousands upon thousands of GOA activists. That's why the
Post says there is one huge obstacle -- the members of Gun Owners of
America.

"The NRA must balance its desire to respond to the worst mass
shooting by a lone gunman in the nation's history with its
competition with the more strident Gun Owners of America, which
opposes any restriction on gun purchases," the Post reported.

SO WHAT DOES HR 297 DO?

Well, the rest of this alert will answer this question. This alert
is long, but it is important to read it in its entirety. We need to
"arm" ourselves with the facts so that we can keep pro-gun
Congressmen from being duped into supporting a bill that, as of now,
is being unanimously cosponsored by representatives sporting an
"F-"
rating by GOA.

HR 297 provides, in the form of grants, about $1 billion to the
states to send more names to the FBI for inclusion in the National
Instant Criminal Background Check System [NICS]. If you are
thinking, "Oh, I've never committed a felony, so this bill won't
affect me," then you had better think again. If this bill becomes
law, you and your adult children will come closer to losing your gun
rights than ever before.

Are you, or is anyone in your family, a veteran who has suffered from
Post Traumatic Stress? If so, then you (and they) can probably kiss
your gun rights goodbye. In 1999, the Department of Veterans
Administration turned over 90,000 names of veterans to the FBI for
inclusion into the NICS background check system. These military
veterans -- who are some of the most honorable citizens in our
society -- can no longer buy a gun. Why? What was their heinous
"crime"?

Their "crime" was suffering from stress-related symptoms that often
follow our decent men and women who have served their country
overseas and fought the enemy in close combat. For all their
patriotism, the Clinton administration deemed them as mentally
"incompetent," sent their names for inclusion in the NICS
system, and
they are now prohibited from owning guns under 18 U.S.C. 922(g)(4).

HR 297 would make sure that more of these names are included in the
NICS system.

But, of course, Representatives Dingell and McCarthy tell us that we
need HR 297 to stop future Seung-Hui Chos from getting a gun and to
prevent our nation from seeing another shooting like we had on
Virginia Tech. Oh really?

Then why, after passing all of their gun control, do countries like
Canada and Germany still have school shootings? Even the infamous
schoolyard massacre which occurred in Ireland in 1997 took place in a
country that, at that time, had far more stringent gun controls than
we do.

Where has gun control made people safer? Certainly not in
Washington, DC, nor in Great Britain, nor in any other place that has
enacted a draconian gun ban.

IMPORTANT TALKING POINTS FOR CAPITOL HILL

Regarding Cho's evil actions last Monday at Virginia Tech, your
Representative needs to understand three things:

1. If a criminal is a danger to himself and society, then he should
not be on the street. If he is, then there's no law (or background
check for that matter) that will stop him from getting a gun and
acting out the evil that is in his heart. (Remember that Washington,
DC and England have not stopped bad guys from getting guns!) So why
wasn't Cho in the criminal justice system? Why was he allowed to
intermix with other college students? The justice system frequently
passes off thugs to psychologists who then let them slip through
their fingers and back into society -- where they are free to rape,
rob and murder.

2. Background checks DO NOT ULTIMATELY STOP criminals and mental
wackos from getting guns. This means that people who are initially
denied firearms at a gun store can still buy one illegally and commit
murder if they are so inclined -- such as Benjamin Smith did in 1999
(when he left the gun store where he was denied a firearm, bought
guns on the street, and then committed his racist rampage less than a
week later).

NOTE: In the first five years that the Brady Law was in existence,
there were reportedly only three illegal gun buyers who were sent to
jail. That is why in 1997, a training manual produced by Handgun
Control, Inc., guided its activists in how to answer a question
regarding the low number of convictions under the Brady Law. The
manual basically says, when you are asked why so few people are being
sent to jail under Brady, just ignore the question and go on the
attack. [See http://www.gunowners.org/fs0404.htm -- GOF's Gun Control
Fact Sheet.]

3. Background checks threaten to prevent INNOCENT Americans like you
from exercising your right to own a gun for self-defense. No doubt
you are familiar with the countless number of times that the NICS
system has erroneously blocked honest Americans from buying a gun, or
have heard about the times that the NICS computer system has crashed
for days at a time, thus preventing all sales nationwide -- and
effectively shutting down every weekend gun show.

Perhaps the most pernicious way of denying the rights of law-abiding
gun owners is to continuously add more and more gun owners' names
onto the roles of prohibited persons. Clinton did this with many
military veterans in 1999. And Congress did this in 1996, when Sen.
Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) successfully pushed a gun ban for people who
have committed very minor offenses that include pushing, shoving or
merely yelling at a family member. Because of the Lautenberg gun
ban, millions of otherwise law-abiding Americans can never again own
guns for self-defense. HR 297 will make it easier for the FBI to
find out who these people are and to deny firearms to them.

GOA has documented other problems with this bill in the past. In our
January alert on HR 297 we pointed out how this bill will easily lend
itself to bureaucratic "fishing expeditions" into your private
records, including your financial, employment, and hospital records.

HR 297 takes us the wrong direction. The anti-gun Rep. Dingell is
trying to sell the bill to the gun owning public as an improvement in
the Brady Law. But don't be fooled! The best improvement would be
to repeal the law and end the "gun free zones" that keep everyone
defenseless and disarmed -- except for the bad guys.

----- PRE-WRITTEN LETTER -----

Dear Representative:

I am a Second Amendment supporter who strongly opposes HR 297 -- the
NICS Improvement Act of 2007 -- and I strongly agree with Gun Owners
of America that this bill should be defeated.

The minor improvements this bill makes to the Brady instant check are
insignificant when compared to the outrageous invasions of our
privacy it would permit.

Gun Owners of America has posted an analysis of HR 297 at
http://www.gunowners.org/110anatb.htm on its website, showing how the
bill will target millions of law-abiding gun owners, including
thousands of combat veterans who served our country bravely.

Supporters of this bill say we need it to stop future Seung-Hui Chos
from getting a gun and to prevent our nation from seeing another
shooting like the one at Virginia Tech. But honestly, what gun law
has stopped bad guys from getting a gun? Not in Canada, where they
recently had a school shooting. Certainly not in Washington, DC or
in England!

I think we've got to stop treating criminals like medical patients,
thus allowing them to slip through the cracks. If we are not going
to incarcerate dangerous people, then all the gun laws in the world
will never stop them from getting firearms.

Don't be misled into thinking that this is a bill that gun owners
endorse. Most gun owners want Brady repealed, not "fixed." The law
has done nothing to prevent criminals from obtaining guns, but it has
violated the Second Amendment rights of millions of law-abiding
Americans.

Sincerely,

********

President Bush represents Mexicans, NOT a

3/14/2007

Yesterday while in Mexico, President Bush pledged to the Mexican
people that he will "work as hard as I possibly can" to pass an
amnesty bill. Here's what he said:

"My pledge to you and your government, but more
importantly to the people of Mexico, is I will work
as hard as I possibly can to pass comprehensive
immigration reform."

How dare the President make such a pledge to a foreign government!
But it gets worse. The President used the same speech to chide
you and me -- and rebuke us for not supporting his amnesty plan!

"In the debate on migration I remind my fellow citizens that
family values do not stop at the Rio Grande river."

(Full quote at the end of this message.)

+ + "Migration" debate?

That is not a misprint. The President has apparently so far
downgraded the current illegal alien invasion that he now calls
it a "debate on migration"! Migration? This was no slip of the
tongue. Both President Bush and Mexican President Calderon
used "migration" repeatedly and it certainly fits how the
President views the border crisis.

So our President goes to Mexico and pledges to do everything
he can to encourage the free "migration" of Mexicans to our
country! Even worse -- he wants to totally remove any stigma
of illegality and give tens of millions south of the border
free "migration" rights! And just for fun, he rebukes you
and me along the way!

+ + Can we stop the invasion?

While the President was doing this, Ron De Jong and I were on
Capitol Hill for important strategy meetings to stop the Bush-
Kennedy-Pelosi amnesty train. We also took part in the launch
of Grassfire’s mobile "Stop The Invasion" billboard right on
Capitol Hill.

Please go here for a full report and to see the new mobile
billboard as it circled the Capitol:

http://www.grassfire.org/18042/offer.asp?rid=12686691

Everyone on Capitol Hill is bracing for the Kennedy amnesty bill
which we expect will be worse than last year’s. The good news is,
we came away from our meetings with a two-pronged approach to
defeating this bill -- one on the House side and the other on
the Senate side. We will be sharing details with you in a few
days.

But one thing was clear -- grassroots pressure is OUR ONLY HOPE!
That was the message we heard again and again. Sen. Coburn of
Oklahoma told us directly that the grassroots made all the
difference last year. A key House staffer said that grassroots
citizens are our only line of defense.

I want to keep this mobile billboard circling the Capitol and
the White House until we defeat amnesty. Quite frankly, it
could take months and I need your help.

Please go here to help us Stop the Invasion:

http://www.grassfire.org/18042/offer.asp?rid=12686691

And please alert your friends to the President’s latest outrageous
statements. President Bush is selling out our country's
sovereignty and he’s rebuking us in the process!

Thanks for taking a stand to stop the invasion!

"The United States respects rule of law. But in the debate on
migration, I remind my fellow citizens that family values do
not stop at the Rio Grande River, that there are decent,
hardworking honorable citizens of Mexico who want to make
a living for their families. And so, Mr. President, my
pledge to you and your government -- but, more importantly,
the people of Mexico -- is I will work as hard as I possibly
can to pass comprehensive immigration reform."

PA Police Refusing To Obey The Law
-- Ask the Attorney General to rein them in!

Gun Owners of America E-Mail Alert
8001 Forbes Place, Suite 102, Springfield, VA 22151
Phone: 703-321-8585 / FAX: 703-321-8408
http://www.gunowners.org

Wednesday, October 25, 2006

The PA State Police are refusing to obey the law, despite court
decisions to the contrary.

Federal privacy laws prohibit the mandatory use of social security
numbers as identification. In a recent court decision, U.S. District
Judge Juan R. Sanchez stated that gun owners cannot be required to
supply social security numbers when buying a gun or applying for a
concealed carry permit.

But the PA State Police, with the help of the Attorney General Tom
Corbett (R), are disregarding the court and are asking a circuit
court judge to strike down Sanchez' order. They don't want to issue
privacy warnings, as required by Section 7(b) of the Privacy Act of
1974; they want to keep collecting the social security numbers of all
gun buyers and carry permit holders.

Gun Owners Foundation has been assisting Lt. Col. Michael
Stollenwerk, who is leading the fight to stop the registration of gun
owners. Stollenwerk won victories in two other states: first in
California, where he convinced authorities that their requirement to
force gun buyers to turn over their social security number violated
federal law; and then again in Virginia, where authorities were less
accommodating and only agreed to respect citizens' privacy after
losing in court.

Pennsylvania has been equally contemptuous of federal law and citizen
privacy, so Stollenwerk took them to federal court. In 2003,
Stollenwerk tried to get a concealed carry permit and purchase a gun.
Both efforts failed when he refused to fork over his social security
number. On February 24, 2006, Judge Sanchez ruled against
Pennsylvania, although the state is refusing to comply.

That's where your help is needed!

ACTION: Please urge Attorney General Tom Corbett (R) to respect the
privacy of gun owners and follow federal law. You can reach him at
the contact info provided below. You can reach him by phone, fax or
Internet. A pre-written letter is appended below for you to
copy-and-paste into Corbett's webform.

Phone: 717-787-3391
Fax: 717-787-8242
Webform: http://www.attorneygeneral.gov/theoffice.aspx?id=71

----- Pre-written letter -----

Dear Hon. Corbett:

I urge you to require the Pennsylvania state police to respect the
privacy of gun owners and follow federal law. Thus, please pull the
plug on the state's appeal of the fine decision handed down by U.S.
District Court Juan R. Sanchez.

On February 24, 2006 Judge Sanchez ruled that gun owners cannot be
required to supply social security numbers when buying a gun or
applying for a concealed carry permit. I agree with that decision.
Don't you?

Gun owner privacy has been threatened since 1968 when the federal
government began to unconstitutionally require that firearms dealers
keep a record (now for twenty years) of all firearms transactions.
This has been nothing but a decentralized gun registration scheme
that does nothing to get criminals to comply, but represents a
constant danger of being used to confiscate privately owned firearms.

But giving the social security numbers of gun owners to the state
police represents a CENTRALIZED gun owner registration list. You
should know the history of gun owner registration and how it leads to
gun confiscation. Even in this country -- in New York City -- gun
registration was followed by gun confiscation under the Mayor Dinkins
administration in the early 1990s.

Again, please respect the privacy of gun owners and please pull the
plug on this misguided appeal. Thank you.

Sincerely,

John André - hanged as a spy

...The board found André guilty of being behind American lines "under a feigned name and in a disguised habit", and that "Major André, Adjutant-General to the British army, ought to be considered as a Spy from the enemy, and that agreeable to the law and usage of nations, it is their opinion, he ought to suffer death." ... André appealed to George Washington to be executed by firing squad, but by the rules of war he was to be hanged as a spy at Tappan on October 2, 1780.

Comment: Why should the Islamo Fascists, who hide behind civilians, dress like civilians (disguised habit), and murder civilians, receive any better treatment than a spy of the American Revolution? Hang the bastards!

Firearms Industry Calls Gun Microstamping Ill-Advised and Says Bill Will Lead to a Ban on Ammunition Sales in California

NEWTOWN, Conn., Aug. 28 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms industry, said today that Senate passage of AB 352, legislation which will mandate the use of unreliable, patented, sole-sourced technology to microstamp firearms and allow the Attorney General to require bullet serialization of all ammunition is ill-conceived and will result in a ban on ammunition sales in the state, burdening sportsmen, hunters and firearms enthusiasts. Microstamping is a patented process that laser engraves the firearm's make, model and serial number on the tip of the gun's firing pin so it imprints the information on discharged cartridge cases.

University students at centre of terror plots

By Roya Nikkhah, Andrew Alderson and Julie Henry

The recruitment of Muslim students at British universities to take part in terrorist attacks is at the heart of the alleged plot to blow up passenger jets, it is feared.

A dossier of extremist Islamic literature has been uncovered by The Sunday Telegraph on the campus of a north London university, one of whose students has suspected links to the alleged terrorist attack.

Waheed Zaman, 22, a bio-chemistry student and the president of the Islamic Society at London Metropolitan University, was one of 24 people arrested last week. Material found at two portable buildings used by the society includes documents advocating jihad and a pamphlet on how to deal with approaches from the security services.

Prof Anthony Glees, the director of Brunel University's centre for intelligence and security studies, criticised university authorities for ignoring the threat to national security in their midst. "Institutions have not sought to address the problem: they have instead sought to undermine those who have raised the issue," he told this newspaper.

Extremist Muslim groups had been detected at more than 20 institutions, both former polytechnics and long-established universities, over the past 15 years, Prof Glees said.

Cassette tapes produced by al-Muhajiroun, the disbanded militant organisation that praised the "Magnificent 19" who carried out the September 11 2001 attacks, were also discovered at the university's portable buildings used as a prayer room and library.

Al-Muhajiroun was headed by Omar Bakri Mohammed, the radical London cleric forced into exile in Lebanon last year. The portable buildings are on land owned by the university, which also part-funds the Islamic Society.

According to security sources, "several" of the 23 people still in custody over the alleged plot last week are suspected of links to universities, appearing to confirm growing fears that campuses are providing Britain's biggest security threat.

Intelligence analysts warned Britain in the aftermath of September 11 that British Muslims of student age were being drawn to the cause of fundamentalism. Many of these men, often from middle-class families, are believed to have infiltrated British universities to recruit terrorists.

It can also be revealed that five of those arrested last week are suspected, like two of the 7/7 London bombers last year, of attending training camps in Pakistan to learn the use of explosives. According to security sources in Pakistan, some of those arrested last week had also had recorded "martyrdom messages" to be used for al-Qaeda propaganda.

Anti-terrorist detectives were continuing last night to question those arrested in London, Birmingham and High Wycombe on Thursday. Those detained, aged 17 to 35, are suspected of involvement in an alleged plot to blow up as many as 10 transatlantic airliners bound for United States cities. They are being quizzed amid growing evidence linking the alleged plotters to terrorists in Pakistan.

The authorities there have announced the arrest of two Britons, one of whom they consider a "key" suspect. Rashid Rauf, 25, the brother of Tayib Rauf, 22, one of those held in Britain, is among seven people held in Karachi and Lahore.

Under questioning in Pakistan, Rauf is alleged to have admitted meeting Matiur Rehman, a Pakistani terrorist suspect. If confirmed, it is the strongest indication yet that al-Qaeda may have been involved in the plot, which would have killed more than the 3,000 victims who died in the September 11 attacks on the US.

Police in Britain are believed to have found chemicals and other equipment for bomb-making at the home of at least one of the men arrested last week. Thames Valley police said they had seized computer equipment during raids at three internet cafés.

Although the security services in Britain are convinced that they have arrested the "main players" in the airline plot, officials in the US say that at least five suspects are still being hunted.

The family of Zaman has denied that he is involved in terrorism. There is no evidence that he put the extremist literature in the university's portable buildings.

SOG Comment: Again, we know who the enemy is. During WWII, would recruitment of Nazis been allowed on school campuses?

Muslim Group Upset by Bush's Use of 'Islamic Fascists'

A Muslim group criticized President Bush for saying that America is "at war with Islamic fascists" after U.K. authorities arrested 24 British citizens of Pakistani origin in an attempt to bomb numerous flights to the U.S. Thursday. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said the president's "hot button" terminology puts the name of Islam and the Muslim community at risk.

Bush called the attempted terrorist attack "a stark reminder that this nation is at war with Islamic fascists who will use any means to destroy those of us who love freedom, to hurt our nation."

Nihad Awad, executive director of CAIR, believes Bush should not even mention Islam when referring to the would-be terrorists.
...
SOG Comment: If Mr. Awad doesn't like it, then why doesn't he stand up and denounce the "Islamic Fascists" and stop the word game BS. Of course maybe he is really on the side of the enemy - the "Islamic Fascists". If you are not opposed to the enemy, then you are the enemy. Take a stand. On the radio I hear Muslim's attacking President because of his comment about "Islamic Fascists". Hearing such, it only appears more clearly that Muslims aren't interested in condemning their radical fascist brothers, but rather seeking to obscure the argument. At what time will Americans wake up? Will it take another hit? If Muslims really believe in "peace" then let's start hearing them condemn these Islamic Fascists and denouncing them loud and clear. Otherwise, it is only common sense and need for self preservation that any normal person would suspect you.

Time to profile terrorists, not grandmas

Thursday’s foiled terrorist plot to smuggle liquid-based bombs on board nearly a dozen trans-oceanic commercial airliners flying to and from the U.S. and Britain caused near-panic and gridlock in airport terminals in both nations. Suddenly alerted government and airline officials were scrambling to stop passengers from boarding with mundane items like toothpaste, suntan lotion and sodas.

The disruption, frustration, delays and inconvenience will continue for an unknown period of time because airports lack technology to sniff out separate ingredients that will create a lethal bomb when combined. The arrests made thus far by British authorities may not have captured all of the plotters, so there is still reason to fear some of the plotters will yet succeed in exploding an airliner packed with hundreds of innocents.
...There is no room left for the blind politically correct procedures that ignore this reality — our enemy is nearly always a young to middle-aged man from a Muslim nation or culture, and it is madness not to focus mainly on those who most readily match the known profile. If preventing another Sept. 11 horror means delaying all travelers from such nations, well, then so be it.

Maybe the resulting inconvenience and discomfort will help induce officials back home to get serious about helping the U.S. and Britain stop terrorists from succeeding in their deadly aims.
